The Hague - Eerste Nederlandse Montessori School
The Eerste Nederlande Montessori School joined the Rijnlands foundation on 1 August 2011.The Eerste Nederlandse Montessori School (First Netherlands Montessori School) in The Hague is a Dutch primary school steeped in history. Ninety-five years ago (in 1916) the city of The Hague was the first city in the Netherlands to have a primary school based on the innovative views of Maria Montessori, offering an education in which the child and its own potential for development are central. The school is located in the Vogelwijk in The Hague with the dunes as its back garden.
The school’s ambition to let children become acquainted with other languages and cultures matches the mission and vision of Rijnlands Lyceum foundation. ENMS is a regular Dutch primary school offering education exclusively in Dutch, but as the sister-school of the primary schools of the International School of The Hague and the European School of The Hague, it aims to enrich its education with an international dimension.
